FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
I’m brand new.
How do I book into classes?
We use Momence for our booking/management system. You can either book through the integrated booking portal on our website here on this page or if you prefer apps - you can download the app here for Apple or Android.
I’ve never done pilates before, is that an issue?
Absolutely not! You’re our favourite type of client, because we’re about to change your life, baby! We are so glad you found us and we cannot wait to move with you. Our pilates and movement classes are for everybody! Whether you’ve not moved your body since year 6 P.E. classes or you’re a pro - we got you!
Great, so which class should I book into for my first time?
If you’re wanting pilates, we recommend coming to our Burn class for your first class, here you’ll learn the language and ropes of what we do at Pilatays. Or, if you want something a little more hectic, heavy and heart pumping, tag along to our Push class, to throw a kettlebell around.
Is there somewhere for me to get changed before/after work?
Yep! Whether you’ve got a hot date after class, or need to rush to work, we have you covered with a unisex bathroom which can double up as a private change room. Sorry, we don’t have showers.
What should I wear?
Something you feel comfortable and confident in - first and foremost. We recommend something stretchy and close fitting, so it doesnt get in the way or restrict you from your cool moves.
And bring?
+ water (we have a tap to refill if you need)
+ towel (you’ll most likely glow from sweat in most of our classes, except melt)
+ shoes (only to our Push class)
How many classes should I do a week as a newbie?
Whatever works for you and your body/schedule! We think if you’re brand new then probably 2-3 sessions a week. We guarantee in no time you’ll be as obsessed as we are, and then you can up the anty to 5-6 sessions a week. If you’re looking to get physically stronger, we recommend doing a mixture of our Burn, Hype + Push classes.
Bookings + Classes
Do I need to book?
Yes - bookings are essential as we have limited spots available. Download the Momence app for Apple or Android.
What if I can’t attend my class anymore and I need to cancel?
We totally understand that life happens and it gets in the way of your plans. However, we do require you to cancel your spot, so other community members don’t miss out! We have an 8-hour booking cancellation window. If you cancel before the 8-hour window, you’ll get your session back and we will see you next time! However, if you cancel within the 8-hour window, you’ll be charged a late cancellation fee. More on this here. This policy is in place to ensure that everyone gets a chance of attending classes at the studio, we hope you can understand.
Ok, so which class should I book into for my first time?
If you want pilates, we recommend coming to our Burn class for your first class. Here you’ll learn the language and ropes of what we do at Pilatays. Or, if you want something a little more hectic, heavy, and heart-pumping, tag along to our Push class, to throw a kettlebell around. If you’re here for just purely relaxation, Melt is the one for your first time.
The class I want to attend is booked out. How does the waitlist system work?
Due to the popularity of classes we offer a waitlist system. You will be automatically enrolled into a class up until 1 hour before the start time. If you are no longer able to attend please remove yourself from the waitlist like you would for a normal class.
+ Please ensure both SMS and email notification settings are enabled for this service.
+ Failure to respond will result in the system assuming you can attend class.
When it comes to late cancellations and no-show fees, please treat the waitlist like a normal booking. If you are added to class from a waitlist within 8-hours of the class beginning, you are liable for the late cancellation fee as per the normal booking policies. Cancellations from waitlists can be managed in the app just like a normal booking.
What if my class is cancelled?
We require a minimum of 4 people to run a class. Classes can be cancelled up to 1 hour prior to classes starting and your trainer will notify you should these circumstances arise, we hope you can understand!
Membership
Do you provide membership options?
Yes! We have one membership option which you can view here. It’s the best bang for your buck if you’re a hardcore Pilatays lover. Plus you get exclusive access to some pretty cool perks.
What are the nitty gritty details I should know?
Your payments are made weekly (every 7 days) so they will land on the same day of the week (for example, every Monday). When you purchase a membership, you are committing to a minimum 12-week period (12 payments). After this time period, you are free to stop or continue as you like. (We hope you stay!)
How can I terminate my membership?
We ask for 5 business days notice to terminate a membership and it can be done by emailing hello@pilatays.com.au.
Can I suspend/pause my membership?
Memberships can be suspended any time you need. We get it, life happens. Please give us no less than 5 days’ written notice via email. Your membership can be paused unlimited times, and can be paused for no longer than 6 months at a time.
